The newest addition to the Binnacle Anchor line embodies the model's history of ruggedness, iconic design and subtle details that has made it a consistent best seller. Still strong enough to weather a hurricane, but sleek enough to embrace in black-tie, the new Binnacle Anchor features an upgraded Miyota 9015 movement, redesigned dial and case back, and now uses separate solid end links on the bracelet instead of fixed end pieces making it a wonderful addition to any collection.
I love this watch, from the smooth sweeping second hand powered by the Miyota 9015 to the precisely crafted bracelet I thoroughly enjoy wearing this watch any day for any occasion. The dial has perfect symmetry in part because there is no date on the watch--which I am perfectly OK with an sometimes prefer. The large numbers make make it extremely quick and easy to read the time and the numbers and indices are proud of the dial which gives some nice depth. One of my favorite aspects of this watch that Bernhardt REALLY needs to show a picture of and speak about is the lume. This watch absolutely glows as good as any diver I've seen in person. It's a surprise at first. I'm not a big fan of metal bracelets but I don't have to be to appreciate the bracelet. The bracelet uses several end links removeable with a screwdriver and has 5 slots for micro adjustments on the milled scissor clasp. The fit between the bracelet and watch case is also the best I've seen in person-- It almost looks like the bracelet is part of the watch case. Nevertheless, my choice was to remove it in favor of leather and NATO straps. The watch looks really good with a dark blue leather strap, Bernhardt's red NATO strap or red or blue cloth bands. Thanks to the Miyota 9015's 8 beats/sec the second hand is very smooth and mesmerizing. After timing it with an atomic clock for two weeks mine was only off(fast) by 6 seconds/day. I expect years of enjoyment out of this watch and I'll be watching Bernhardt to see what they create next.
I have only had the watch for a little over 48 hours, so these are my initial thoughts, not a long-term review. The watch is beautiful. I chose the white dial because it is different than a lot of similar styled watches and I am very happy with that choice. The watch is fairly large, but wears as you would expect for its dimensions and fits well on my wrist. I expect that when I need to wear a suit for work, this is the watch I will wear. I expect that when I go on vacation and want a watch that will look appropriate in various situations, this is the watch I will take. This is also going to be one of my everyday watches and will be worn a lot. If I had to find something to criticize, it would the clasp on the bracelet. It is not bad and it has 4 micro adjustments, but it is not my favorite clasp. Considering I am wearing the watch on the bracelet and am in no hurry to change to a different strap, this is a minor complaint. To be clear, I love the watch. I have found my adventure watch.
The all white dial and the clean look makes this watch very special!
