For over 20 years, custom watchmaking has been at the core of Bernhardt Watch Company—it’s how we began. Whether you’re envisioning something entirely original or simply want your logo on the dial, we tailor the process to you—hands-on or hands-off.

Some clients arrive with fully developed concepts. Others bring a logo and trust us to take it from there. Either way, we’re here to bring your vision to life—seamlessly, thoughtfully, and with the same uncompromising quality that defines every Bernhardt timepiece.

Our Process

Step 1

Initial DESIGN

We guide you through every step of designing your custom timepiece. Whether you have a sketch on a napkin or simply a sense of what you like, we’ll work together to shape the design—refining it along the way until it’s exactly right.

STEP 2

Final Design, Approval & Ordering

We refine the design as needed to ensure it aligns with sound manufacturing processes, then provide detailed 2D renderings of your watch—front and back. There’s still room to make adjustments at this stage. Once everything meets your expectations, we’ll ask for your approval to proceed.

With an approved rendering, all that’s needed to place your order is a 50% deposit of the total project value.

Step 3

Manufacturing, Assembly & Testing

We work with our trusted network of manufacturers around the world to bring your approved design from a 2D rendering to a finished, wearable timepiece. Depending on your preferences, final assembly is often completed here in the United States by our in-house watchmakers.

Each watch is rigorously tested for accuracy, functionality, and water resistance. Any piece that does not meet our standards is carefully evaluated and, when possible, reworked to ensure it meets the level of quality we stand behind.

Step 4

Delivery

We offer several delivery options. The fastest is direct shipment to your business or organization. For a more personal experience, we’re also happy to deliver orders in person—an option many clients appreciate, as it allows us to size each watch on-site and answer any questions along the way.

Final payment is required prior to delivery.

Step 5

Warranty & Service

We stand behind the quality of every watch we make. Each Bernhardt timepiece is backed by a 2-year warranty against manufacturer defects. Should anything arise, our team is here to ensure your watch performs as it should—and that you remain proud of the piece on your wrist and the company behind it.

Minimum order quantities typically start at around 25 pieces at standard pricing, depending on the model. For those looking to develop something unique, we also offer one-off prototype production for an additional cost.

Yes! We do this often and have helped bring numerous watch brands to life. Whether you’re starting with a concept or building from the ground up, we can guide you through the process—from design and prototyping to production and beyond.

What components can I customize?

Most clients choose to customize the dial, hands, and caseback. For those who want to go further, we can tailor virtually every aspect of the watch—straps, clasps, case design, and more. Share your vision with us, and we’ll guide you through the possibilities to create something truly your own.

What is a custom dial?

Your dial can be designed to reflect virtually anything you have in mind. While certain material constraints apply, you can typically customize the color, indices, branding, text, and even the type and placement of lume for low-light visibility.

How long will it take to receive my custom order?

Estimated delivery times vary based on the scope of your order. For in-stock models, delivery is typically around three months from the order date. Larger orders or those requiring new case production generally have a timeline closer to six months.
