For over 20 years, custom watchmaking has been at the heart of Bernhardt Watch Company. In fact, it’s how we started. Whether you’re looking to create something entirely new or simply want your logo on a dial, we make the process as hands-on or hands-off as you’d like.

Some customers come to us with a fully sketched-out concept. Others just send us a logo and let us take it from there. Either way, we’re here to bring your vision to life—simply, smoothly, and with the same commitment to quality that defines every Bernhardt timepiece.

Our Process

A step-by-step guide on how we take your idea from concept to finished watch.

Step 1

DESIGN

We work with you through each step of designing your custom timepiece. Whether you've got a sketch on a napkin, or just a general idea of the types of watches you like, we'll work together to design your watch and make changes along the way.

STEP 2

Rendering, Approval & Ordering

We'll tweak the design as needed to ensure we can maintain sound manufacturing processes, and deliver a 2D rendering of your watch- front & back. We can still make changes at this point.

Once the rendering aligns with your expectations, we request an approval to proceed.

With an approved rendering, all that's left to place your order is a 50% deposit of the total order value. This payment can be made via check, or through an online portal (CC fee applies).

Step 3

Manufacturing, Assembly & Testing

We work with our network of manufacturers around the globe to begin bringing that 2D rendering to the wearable watch you ordered!

Depending on your preferences, the watch is then assembled- most often here in High Point by our in-house watchmaker.

Watches are tested for accuracy, functionality and water resistance. Items that do not pass our control tests are then evaluated, and if possible, re-assembled to correct any errors in the manufacturing process.

Step 4

Delivery

We offer a few delivery options here at Bernhardt. The quickest option is shipping directly to your business. We're happy to provide a more personal touchpoint though, and have found that it's sometimes convenient for our customers if we deliver these orders in person. This allows us to size the watches to each customer's wrist, and answer any questions they might have.

Final payment (50% of total order) is due upon delivery.

Step 5

Warranty & Service

We stand by the quality of our watches. Each Bernhardt timepiece is accompanied by a 2-year warranty against manufacturer defects. We hope you never need to contact us for a repair, but are here by your side to ensure that you're proud of the watch on your wrist, and the company that made it happen!

I have an idea for a watch. Can you make just 1 custom watch?

Unfortunately, we're unable to produce 'piece unique' watches. Our minimum watch order is 25 pieces.

What components can I customize?

Most of our customers choose to customize the dial, hands, and case back. We can also do custom straps, clasps, and, in some cases, the cases themselves! Let us know your preferences, and we’ll explore the options together.

What is a custom dial?

A custom dial can look like whatever you envision! While there are some restrictions on materials, you can typically choose the dial color, indices, branding/writing, and even luminosity for dark settings.

How long will it take to receive my custom order?

Estimated delivery times vary. For an in-stock model, delivery is typically around 3 months from the order date. For larger orders or those needing additional cases, expect about 6-7 months.

I’m not a watch designer, but I have an idea for my company’s project. Will you help with design?
