Description
You asked us for a chronograph.
So we called the American watch company that knows mechanical chronographs inside and out: our friends at Haven Watch Company.
Together, we created the Shadowgraph.
It felt like the perfect collaboration. Haven is built around Precision with Personality — bold watches, unexpected color, and serious mechanical watchmaking. Think of the tie-dye Chilllton chronograph featured in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery. At Bernhardt, we tend to lean a little more classic, while still keeping things distinctly modern.
The Shadowgraph sits right between the two.
We started with a deep black dial, reminiscent of our Midnight Binnacle Diver, then opened it up with three translucent subdials that reveal the movement beneath. Red, luminous subdial hands provide just enough color.
The dial carries the Bernhardt name exclusively, while Haven leaves its fingerprints in the details: the Haven “H” on the crown and an etched map of the Great Lakes on the caseback — a signature of the brand.
And because Haven exclusively builds around Swiss movements, we knew exactly what belonged inside: a Swiss mechanical chronograph movement, paired with the everyday wearability we expect from every Bernhardt watch.
At 38mm, the Shadowgraph wears compact and balanced while retaining the presence and functionality of a true mechanical chronograph. A classic 6–9–12 layout, date aperture at 3 o’clock, and hand-wound modified Sellita SW510MBHa bring the mechanics to life.
This isn’t a chronograph designed for the collection box.
It was made for the wrist.

Classic Proportions. Unexpected Details.

Swiss Mechanical Movement
At its heart is a hand-wound, modified Sellita SW510MBHa with a classic 6–9–12 chronograph layout and 50-hour power reserve.
Because Haven exclusively builds around Swiss movements, there was never much question about what belonged inside the Shadowgraph: a mechanical movement made to be wound, worn, and enjoyed.

Anderson S. Not my first review, and not my first watch with Bernhardt. I've been a customer since 2016. First, the name is awesome. Shadowgraph, kudos to whoever came up with it. Second, the size is absolutely perfect. Third, as I understand it, the non-modified version of this movement, Sellita SW510MBHa, is supposed to be an automatic watch, but this version is manual-wind, which makes it very interesting. I assume the modification was to remove the rotor, for a slimmer profile. The Haven Watch Co. website said this was a rule they broke intentionally to "keep the profile thin," and I agree; the case height, compared to some other sub-40mm Chronographs I've seen, is really on the thinner side. Fourth, the bracelet could be considered a bit controversial, as more and more brands upgrade their clasps to add on-the-fly micro-adjustments, which in general I appreciate, but for this specific watch I find the more classic clasp and bracelet not only add to the thinner profile approach, but also give a bit of a vintage feel to the watch. The translucent subdials, which give us a small peek at the internal date wheel, are quite fun as well. If I had to suggest anything to make this watch an even better offer, it would be: 1. having the actual name of the watch either engraved on the case back or the dial; again, "shadowgraph" is a cool name. 2. The watch lume could be stronger. Otherwise, this is another great release from an old favorite, Bernhard, and a new brand I've just learned about, Haven.

Michael Sutherlin Received my watch a couple weeks ago. I really like the look. I have received multiple compliments. My only ask would be for the bracelet to be a little more heavy duty on a watch at a $1500 price point. It just feels a little thin. Particularly the clasp. Otherwise, I absolutely love it.
